Visitor Attractions

Visitor Attractions Quality Assurance Service (VAQAS)

VAQAS is the national scheme for visitor attractions. It helps to identify strengths of an attraction and highlights development areas, based on industry examples.

A wide range of attractions of all sizes, both large and small, throughout England have benefited from participation in the service. In Manchester existing members include the Museum of Science and Industry, East Lancashire Railway and Imperial War Museum North.

Benefits of participation include:

  • Unlimited use of the VAQAS rose marque
  • One-to-one debrief with a tourism professional
  • Full post-visit report including key observations and recommendations
  • National and international promotion on official tourism websites for England

All Vist Manchester members that are visitor attractions are required to be VAQAS accredited.
