Why choose to have your establishment accredited?
Quality assurance ratings allow visitors to Manchester to make an informed choice where their accommodation is concerned. They have the reassurance that the ratings are independently assessed to national standards giving visitors a measure of standards to suit their expectations.
National standards for accommodation providers have now been standardised, which means all accommodation providers are now accredited with 1-5 stars.
The two bodies that administer accommodation accreditation are Quality in Tourism and The AA. Both schemes offer member benefits and promotional activity.
National Accessible Scheme (NAS)
Quality in Tourism also deliver the National Accessible Scheme, which is designed to enhance facilities and services provided for guests who have a disability. The scheme provides a set of Accessible Standards that address three types of impairment; mobility, hearing and visual. Accommodation providers are assessed against these standards and then awarded a rating.
Participating in the National Accessible Scheme is a great way to indicate your commitment to accessibility and can attract potential business from less able visitors. It is not all about wheelchairs – even if a business has steps to the front door or no ground floor bedrooms it can still achieve a rating. Check out the mobility entry-level standard One Step Ahead, to help you accommodation elderly and less mobile guests.
