Visit Manchester is involved in a number of initiatives that celebrate the achievements of individuals and recognise quality standards in the industry.
The Manchester Food & Drink Festival is the region's hotly anticipated celebration of cullinary excellence. To recognise the outstanding individuals who contribute to the industry, Visit Manchester is sponsoring three prestigious Investment in Skills Awards as part of the festival: -
- Manchester Young Chef 2009
- Manchester Young Waiter 2009
- Manchester Bartender 2009
All three awards provide an oportunity to reward skilled and talented individuals who are passionate about their work. They also raise the profile of employers in Manchester's hospitality and tourism industry who are committed to investing in the skills of the industry's future champions.
Visit Manchester works in partnership with Springboard to showcase the talents and achievements of Manchester’s emerging young chef talent. The nominated chef is given the opportunity to take over the kitchen for a night and produce a signature menu. They are presented with a certificate of achievement and a commemorative Villeroy and Boche plate and chef whites.
